When property managers hear “pest control" in relation to their green spaces, they naturally think

(Environmental Protection Agency) defines any unwanted invader as a pest. Hence any herbicide

If you've noticed patches in your lawn where the turf is thin or bare, there are many possible
causes: lack of fertilizer, drought stress from last year, or the existence of grubs below the
surface. If you've seen birds feeding in and around the dead patches, there's a good chance that
it's grub damage. To be sure, grab a shovel and turn over a few areas a few inches deep. You'll be
looking for inch long C-shaped white grubs. Once verified, an insecticide needs to be applied.
There are a multitude of pesticides that can be used, including some safer, longer term controls.
Over a quarter century of research suggests that watering immediately after application, with a
half inch of irrigation or rain, helps to yield optimum results. After the grass has thoroughly dried,
people and pets can then safely walk on it again.
